speedo unit missing even though bike was advertised with 34000km mileage.

here is the series of events

1. bmw s1000rr motorcycle purchased from DBN. it was on timed auction. purchase price R46517.5

2. upon collection i ask for the speedo unit and i am told it was ****** when the bike was on the initial branch auction 2 weeks or so before.

3. at this point it is important to note the ffg; ---i did not bid on this bike at the branch auction, just the timed auction ---on the timed auction it shows mileage of 34400km.

4. based on this it is not unreasonable for me to deduce the speedo should in fact be there. surely if you know the mileage of the bike you would be reading it off the speedo. also important to note that even though the new pictures that were apparently taken for the timed auction does not show the speedo on it, there is a box of spares included with the bike in which the speedo could be. again, this reasoning is down to the mileage which was shown of which a screenshot is attached here as well.

5. i have spoken to adrian of smd dbn and his stance is that there is nothing that he can do.

i am an active auction buyer and i understand how auctions work. this situation however could have been avoided if the bike was advertised correctly. my proposal is i will source a speedo and SMD can reimburse me OR SMD can take this bike back and refund me in full. if you have an alternative proposal i am happy to hear it.
