SMD Pretoria staff are ******* and service is such a pain
Had my car towed there after an accident and all my belongings were ******. They give the run around after multiple calls. Leandrew in particular just sent an email saying they've "double checked " and couldnt find anything. Mind you, they didnt ask for descriptions of the items, zero accountabilty. They refused to release my car after Ive even provided them with a release note, they came up with stupid stories to make it impossible to get my car back. DO NOT GET YOUR CAR TOWED THERE!!!!!!

01 Mar 2019, 08:54Good day Anzani,
We have done an investigation and in our process, all items are recorded and a checklist as well as photos are taken of the vehicle as it enters our yard. We have many clients that have personal items and these are recovered and put in the checklist. Please can you also check with the towing company that towed your vehicle to SMD as they may have stored your items.
Regarding the release of a vehicle, we only accept releases from the insurance company, who is our client. As soon as we receive the release note from your insurance, we release the vehicle. These are policies and procedures that we follow.
Kind regards,
SMD

We strictly deal with the insurance company. You need to communicate with them to send us the instruction for release. We then will mark it as a release on our side.
