SMD Boksburg - MINI COOPER S purchase nightmare
Very bad advertising, SMD Boksburg advertised 2007 Mini Cooper S, Approx. 40 000kms, is a started and pictures not showing any defects on car except for the bonnet that need respray. When I received the car it was the total opposite, car did not start, in fact the engine was seized, the body has had some serious repairs done to it and as for the mileage the car, it showed no signs of being a low mileage car. other stuff...door handles broken, roof cracking, all tyre rubber cracked all over due to sun exposure, battery bay totally rusted, seats broken and oily and the list goes on. Car even has an old-used smell inside. All these were never mentioned or portrayed in their pics in any way. I thought the branch manager would be able to assist as we have a very decent chat regarding the situation , however, he rep**** back by email (according to their t&Cs)that they sell their cars as-is because it is 'salvaged' irrelevant of their advertising. Is this fair in this day and age???What a rip-off. Thanks SMD:(
The images on the public website for this vehicle clearly show the car has sustained front end damage (https://www.smd.co.za/vehicle/2013-mini-mini-one-1-6/BCN545K). In additional images, the odometer shows the car is on with the cars mileage, but the starter label clearly says Starter: No. 'Other Photo 8' shows damage to the undercarriage as well.
