SMD Boksburg

I purchased a vehicle at SMD Boksburg on auction last week 11 July and received the car on Tuesday 18 July after having it couriered down to me in PE

The car was purchased as a code 2. On Wednesday 19 July, we took the car to our mechanic who put the car on a hoist. Upon inspection, it was found that the car had been rebuilt and that the chassis has been welded on in 3 different places. The mechanic advised us to take the car to a s**** yard and sell it as s**** as it is a code 3, and not a code 2 as stated on the website.

This was my fourth purchase of 6 in the past month by SMD and I was by no means expecting a new car. I understand that there are risks buying onlne, but had the car been advertised correctly, I would not have bought the car first of all, and I would not have paid code 2 prices for a code 3 car.

I contacted Patrick at SMD who advised me to put the car on my name, then return it to SMD and have them re-sell the car on my behalf. I don't see why I should take a loss on a car that they advertised incorrectly. A rebuilt car is a code 3.

I understand that there are risks involved in purchasing second hand cars, however we are happy with the other cars that we purchased, and all of them have extensive work on them. This isn't a case of a gear box being faulty, or that there is something mechanically wrong that I am trying to hold them accountable for.

Had I known the car was a code 3,, a rebuilt car, I never would have purchased the car. I would like to resolve this issue.
