Misleading and ********

SMD is always misleading. They are continuesly selling cars that have been repaired before, but they do no specify that the cars have been previously repaired. I personally feel alot of times they do repairs themselves as you can't tell in the pictures if the vehicle was previously repaired. In the past year I purchased 6 cars via the online system, from those 6 cars, 5 of them were previously damaged and repaired. SMD is ******** the people.

Good Day Mr. Mall

A purchased check was done on your SMD account on the recent 3 purchased for 2019.

All the vehicles that you have purchased from SMD were all from one of SMD suppliers(Insurance company). As stated on the stock number allocated on your invoice. As a regular buyer from SMD you would be aware that SMD is in the business of selling salvage vehicles.

By biding on the vehicle you agree that you have acquainted the conditions of the vehicle prior the sale and understand additional cost for the buyer expenses and discretion will include : (1) Repairs and sourcing of repairs of the vehicle.

The vehicles are accessible for physical viewing at the branch prior purchase or payment of the sale. As a client you are more then welcome to request more images from the branch manager prior the purchase or payment of the sale.

Regards
SMD

Best regards,

RM

Hi. I totally understand when bidding that I am bidding for salvaged vehicles. However SMD is not transparent when advertising the vehicles. On certain vehicles SMD states previously repaired, while on most vehicles that have been previously repaired, SMD does not reveal that the vehicle was previously repaired. The last vehicle I purchased was sold as a Hail damage, however vehicle was in a previous accident, terrible repairs done, the Airbags were deployed and simply covered up, obviously this is not visible in the pictures, the Airbag light was On, but again this was not shown in the pictures. When you say we can view the vehicles on-site, that's not always possible as im based in PTA but bidding for a vehicle on Durban or Bloemfontien. Is it at all possible to view the daily sales or online auction vehicles?

Good Day Mr. Mall

Please note if the reason for the vehicle being written off by insurance company  is not "previously repaired "  however it is an accident damage that is how SMD will sell the Salvage (Vehicle).

We do not have a specialist to verify the previous work that has been done on the vehicle prior the accident. Clients insure vehicles to the insurance companies without providing all the information history on the vehicles.

I understand SMD does not have specialist to provide the information but each and every car at SMD gets inspected by an assessor from the insurance who can provide that information. Everything is possible if SMD is willing to play Fair and transparent which currently is definitely not the case. All we are asking is be transparent and honest with your clients.
