False/Misleading Advertising

i purchased a vehicle on SMD Boksburg auction last week wednesday 03/05/17. the vehicle was stated as a starter and also as a 'drive-away'. Now according to my knowledge and the knowledge of everyone at SMD drive-away means that I should put a battery in the vehicle (since SMD does not supply one), start the vehicle and drive it away. this unfortunetly was not the case. when i went to collect the vehicle, we found that the fan belt was broken and the car was NOT driving. The manager ensured us that it is only a fanbelt and its a small thing. after further inspection we find that the gearbox is faulty, the power steering box is broken, a piece of metal on the engine cage is broken and a whole lot of other faults. SMD does not want to assist at all with this vehicle. they agree that the vehicle was sold as a drive-away, however they say the vehicle was only driven about 200 metres by them.

fair enough, they sell Salvage units. however the fair thing would be to advertise the vehicle as only a 'starter' and not a 'drive-away' which is misleading and untrue. this is not the first issue i have had with them, however enough is enough as i am disgusted with the service i receive as a loyal client. please advise the way forward with this matter?

I believe that the Branch Manager did contact you and we have come to a mutual agreement to cancel the sale of the salvage vehicle. Please note that you are always welcome to fami****ize yourself with the condition of the vehicle prior to purchasing so at all our branches in the future.
