Denying receiving instructions
My car was in a minor accident on 18 September 2015 and towed to SMD in Chamdor. After NET ASSESS - Richard Langer - assessed and wrote off the car I had a honourable panel beater do a second assessment and saved R9390.61 thereby disputing the write off with Discovery Insure. I then had Discovery release my car to the new panel beater but had to send my own tow truck to collect. My truck arrived at about 2pm and was told by the person in charge, who was busy eating while talking, said that there was no such vehicle in the lot. On contacting Discovery they got Elize Smith on the phone who said she had only received a mail to release the car at 2:32pm - this is a blatant lie as Discovery sent the 1st email at 12:05 to which Elize responded at 1:05pm and then she responded at 1:17pm and she received the next email from Discovery in response at 2:32pm. It appears that the negative reputation of SMD Chamdor actually extends to the salvage operator in centurion as well. I am shocked at the blatant lying and poor service.

We are unable to comment on the assessment process as SMD is not an involved party.
After investigating your claims, we are able to confirm the following. As we are sure you can understand, to release a vehicle is in fact a process which must follow a strict Standard Operating Procedure for security purposes. The request to release your vehicle commenced between SMD and Discovery at 1:17, but final authorisation to release the vehicle was granted at 2:32.
We apologize that the process took longer than expected, and assure you that both Discovery and SMD endeavored to assist you as a valued client as soon as possible.
