Conning Clients/ Advertising incorrect year models

I purchased a VW polo vehicle from SMD Cape Town. I was sold a 2010 model car and found out later from the agents that this vehicle actually is a 2007 model. When I approached the Cape Town manager Esme, she basically told me that they can do this. They are not liable and this is stated in the consumer act and that the year models may not always be correct or as the papers of the vehicle.<br> My argument is that, as the purchaser we only get to receive the papers of the vehicle a week later. SMD actually knows what they doing and they are making so much money unfairly by cheating their clients. <br> <br> My invoice states that I was sold a 2010 year model car. There is a significant difference in the book value of a 2007 and 2010 year model vehicle. <br> I later realised that SMD actually marked the car 2007 and later changed it to 2010 on their advert stickers on the vehicle and I have proof of this. So this is a planned misrepresentation. As they make so much undeserved money. <br> <br> In short they are actually using the consumer act to their benefit and misleading clients.<br> <br> I will be taking this further to Ombudsman and lawyers to stop their unfair earnings.<br> <br> <br> <br> <br>
