Poor service and false fuel economy claims.

<p>Dear Ford South Africa...<br />I purchased a Ford Ecosport, Titanium, 2015 model with 2500 kms on the clock in February this year from your SDM dealship in Stanger/ Kwa Dukuza, KZN. Within a week of purchasing and driving the vehicle, I realized that I was not getting the promised 4 to 5l per 100 km as advised by the sales person and that the vehicle lacked power. I was getting over 10 l per 100 km driving the car around with the air conditioner on. The vehicle battles to go up a 30 to 40 degree incline on my driveway. I called the sales person, he emailed the after sales service manager who asked me to bring in the vehicle for a reprogramming on the computer.</p> <p>I did so, but still no improvement. I complained again when the vehicle went in for it's annual service with 5700 kms on the clock. The service manager asked me to leave the vehicle with them and they would do their own fuel efficiency testing by driving the vehicle themselves. The best economy they got was 8.5 l per 100 km, which is a far cry from to the promised 4 to 5 l per 100 km which was touted when we were looking at buying the car.</p> <p>The after sales service manager said that I should have bought the diesel version of the car as it has a 1.5 l engine and had more power and according to the service manager the Eco Boost only kicks in at 2500 RPM and therefore the car has no power to climb up my driveway.</p> <p>I surprisingly received a call from Ford wrt the service...I complained. I gave permission for my name to be used to address the problem. The dealship contacted and promised to relook at the problem. Up to this day nobody contacted me again.</p> <p>I the last week, after reading that Ford was bursted for false fuel consumption on the Kuga, I contacted the salesperson with the article in reference. He, again emailed the service department...I am yet to receive a response.</p> <p>Ford has clearly misleading me wrt to the Eco Boost and its economy.</p> <p>I will await a response before I proceed further to the ASA.</p>
