False Advertising - Refund Declined
The last thing I want to do is write a bad review of a company I have been loyal to for approx. 10 years now. I purchase 5 to 10 vehicles a Month from SMD so I’m not expecting to get perfect cars from them. I do however expect that when they state as a ‘Stater’ that it does start. This is the 2nd time I’m faced with this, both times Bloem branch. 1st time Leandrew tried Bullying me to sell the vehicle as an online vehicle, no guarantee that I would get my money back or how long I would wait with no option to get refunded. I escalated and almost immediately head office staff arranged for a refund thereby affirming my faith and loyalty even further in the company. The exact same scenario a few years later only this time even after escalating the senior Auctioneer. He’s response is to confirm that indeed the vehicle came to the yard as a “nonstarter“ and only started just before the auction began. He in turn tries to force the same option i.e. 1. register the car on your name 2. Place it on daily auctions 3. We can’t guarantee amount or time it will be sold 4. SMD take a portion of the amount, Stating that he is going out of he’s way to help me. I refused and explained that I considered he’s response belittling my integrity. Putting me through all of this hassle because Bloem branch manager incorrectly advertised the car as a ‘starter’. They have now managed to start the car again and sent me videos. Senior managements response to me is I must go and fetch the vehicle at my cost – I have sent email to point out how unfair this is by explaining the obvious that I went to collect the vehicle at my cost and it was falsely advertised and could not take it hence leaving it. Is SMD expecting me to now again at my cost go and collect the vehicle?. My email is now being ignored. I don’t want this car anymore. All I want is my money back – At this rate SMD regardless of how big you are your business will collapse. Needless to say I am still struggling with this situation. I’m no longer getting any responses to my email.
