Failure to Transfer Vehicle Ownership – BMW X3
I sold my 2007 BMW X3 to Smashed2Cash in October 2025. I was advised that they would handle the change of ownership and that it would normally be completed within 7 working days. Despite numerous follow-ups, the transfer was apparently never completed. I was initially told that it had been done, only for me to later be informed that my vehicle papers had been misplaced by their staff. I have now received a NATIS notification on 10 August 2026 to renew the licence disc, indicating that the vehicle may still be linked to my name almost 10 months after the sale. I have repeatedly requested proof of the transfer and have had to chase the company for updates. Their handling of the matter has been extremely disappointing, including dismissive and rude responses to my requests for proof. I want Smashed2Cash to urgently: Complete the change of ownership; Provide official proof that it has been completed; Confirm that they will bear any costs arising from their failure to transfer the vehicle timeously; and Confirm that I will not be required to take time off work to correct an administrative failure on their side. I have exhausted attempts to resolve this directly with the company and will now be escalating the matter to MIOSA if it is not resolved.
