SMART UMA is a ****, they are good for nothing.
Very useless insurer, my car has a dent on the front left fender they say they won’t fix because the is a misaligned panel, they are referring to the front passenger door, I took it to techno dent for a second opinion and they have said the door is in place damage is only on the fender and minor scratches on the bumper.
I asked that I take my car in to Auto Magic since they claim it’s Auto Magic that did the evaluation based on the pictures I sent, they didn’t want me to take it in to Auto Magic, that is why I have since taken it to Techno Dent for a second opinion.
This is a **** I people read comments on hello Peter before committing to these people.

26 Apr 2021, 16:32Dear Sir,
The product that forms the basis of this complaint is a Unitrans BLM Exterior policy underwritten by CFAO Motors Insurance Limited of which SMART UMA act as the appointed claims administrator. The policy provides cover for repairs and restoration against minor damages sustained to the exterior body of the vehicle caused by day to day driving, and from damages that may result from everyday wear and tear. The contract has a maximum indemnity limit of R 4,500.00 VAT inclusive subject to the contract terms and conditions being adhered to as noted in the schedule.
The claim in contention was reported on the 12/04/2021. It was advised that the vehicle sustained damages to the left front fender and bumper and required repair and restoration thereof. The normal claims procedure was followed whereby we requested to send photos regarding the required maintenance.
It was evident that the damages are too big to be conducted by the Streamline mobile repair unit we further referred the damages reported to one of our nationwide body maintenance shops.
Upon receiving the requested quotation – we proceeded to reject the claim as the damages quoted for which equates to R 8,430.00 exceeds the policy indemnity limit of R 4,500.00 VAT inclusive and regrettably is specifically excluded from the scope of cover.
In addition – it has been noted as per the photos received, that there is structural damage to the left front fender which is misaligned to the vehicles left front door.
This unfortunately is no longer defined as a minor scratch, dent or stone chip and is specifically excluded from the band of cover.
In addition, any maintenance work in excess of the limit is usually not minor maintenance and may be covered under a comprehensive motor insurance policy. This means that if the quote is received and is over R 4,500.00 the damage will no longer be defined as maintenance.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience herein. Kind Regards,
