SMART UMA - BMW minor damage cover

I can only concur to the multitude of bad ratings of this pathetic company, that will do anything to decline your claim. If BMW insists on using them as their insurance partner for minor scratches and dents, then my next vehicle certainly will not be a BMW. It pains me what lies they will resort to to have your claim rejected (rejecting claims seems to be the default)

I recently submited a claim for a minor dent on my tailgate which they outright declined basis their internal assessment of costs - they didn’t tell me where they got their quote from, but my damages were apparently in excess of the limit covered. They then gave me the option to find a better quote, which i did. I approached a repairer (Kwikfit) who they previously referred me to and received a quote within my cover, but all of a sudden SMART UMA no longer uses Kwikfit and i must use one of three dealers situated halfway accross the Cape Peninsula. They are extremely slow to respond to emails (convenient for them), and do not call back on request.

My advise to anyone dealing with SMART UMA is to spare yourself the frustration of dealing with them, they are a dissapointing digrace to be partnered with a brand like BMW.
