Smart Insurance for dents and scratches is a ****
Smart insurance is a ****, they pretty much take care of small car dents and scratches, any costs in your car that do not exceed R3000 to fix by charging around R80 P/M.
Unfortunately car repairs hardly cost that little amount, when I tried to claim for a scratch repair that costed about R4500 of which I was willing to pay the difference out of my own pocket, I was told that the damage exceeded the threshold thus, I will have to take it with my motor insurance.
They take your money but provide no service in return, bunch of *****s dressed in suits.

The product that forms the basis of this complaint is a WesBank Inside Out maintenance plan administered by SMART UMA. The plan provides cover for repairs and restoration against minor damages sustained to the exterior body of the vehicle caused by day to day driving, and from damages that may result from every day wear and tear and also includes provision for the maintenance and restoration of the interior furnishings of the vehicle. The contract has a maximum indemnity limit of R 4,500.00 VAT inclusive subject to the contract terms and conditions being adhered to as noted in the schedule.

The general meaning of wear and tear denotes a damage resulting from ordinary use, one that naturally and inevitably occurs.
The product is designed to provide benefits in respect of expected events, not unexpected insurable events.
Accordingly, the product is not an insurance product.
In addition, any maintenance work in excess of the limit is usually not minor maintenance and may be covered under a comprehensive motor insurance policy. This means that if the quote is received and is over R 4,500.00 the damage will no longer be defined as maintenance.
Furthermore – we do have a claim logged on the 30/07/2020 however we are pending visuals/photos to be sent an Assessing Consultant will validate against damage reported (T325581)
We are looking forward to receiving the requested visuals/photos at your earliest convenience so that we can quickly and efficiently finalize this process for you.
Our records indicate that another claim was logged on the 20/07/2020 whereby the visuals/photos were received on the 23/07/2020 however we did not receive a picture of the vehicles licence disc. - license disc picture was attached and since this is a BMW policy, we can only use a quote from BMW ARC. Quotation thereof was received on the 27/07/2020 and claim finalised on the 29/07/2020 and
duly rejected in line with the plan terms and conditions – damages reported exceed the indemnity size limit and the plan specifically excludes replacement of part of a panel (T321321)
Should you not be happy with the outcome, you are at liberty to seek further recourse that is made available to you. Thereafter you may institute legal proceeding within 180 Days of receipt of this letter, failing which we will have no further liability in terms of this policy.
