**** cover!

Please explain how the second quote is incomplete I received the quotes from panel beaters that I was directed by you. Secondly, one of the quotes is less than R5000 and my maximum cover is R5000. You are more than welcome to cancel the cover and give me back all my premiums paid dating back to after my claim 2018, clearly I am not getting what I pay for.

Dear Sir,

The claim in contention was re-opened on the 25/06/2020. It was advised that the vehicle sustained dents to the left front fender and left front bumper and required repair and restoration thereof. The normal claims procedure was followed whereby we requested send photos regarding the required maintenance and restoration.

As it was evident that the damages are too big to be conducted by the Streamline mobile repair unit we then further referred you to one of our nationwide body maintenance shops.

Upon receiving the requested information – we noted that the cheaper quotation is incomplete, repairer quoted for the fender only and there is a damage on the front bumper as initially reported.

Secondly, the second quote submitted was rejected as all the damages quoted for which equates to R 11,854.64 exceeds the policy indemnity limit of  R 5,000.00 VAT inclusive and regrettably is specifically excluded from the scope of cover.

In addition - we proceeded to reject the claim as the damages quoted for exceeds the indemnity size limit and regrettably is specifically excluded from the scope of cover as the total surface area – length - exceeds the 15cm size limit. Furthermore, any maintenance work in excess of the limit is usually not minor maintenance and may be covered under a comprehensive motor insurance policy.

There will be no cover if the cost of repairs inclusive of VAT, irrespective of the size of the damage, exceeds the Benefit Limit as stated on the Schedule.
Thank you for your cooperation and patience herein. Kind Regards,   Risk Management Complaints Division
