Really disappointed SMA Solar customer in Tshwane

I recently bought SMA Solar equipment - which comes at a premium - from a solar installer in Pretoria - SMA is supp**** by IBC in South Africa as a wholesaler.

Although the kit worked fine in the beginning, it stopped working when Tshwane changed their smart meters, continuously tripping the power in my house every 10 minutes or so. The only way to stop this is to switch off the solar installation - rendering my very large investment useless. Although receiving a lot of support from the installer, the response from IBC and SMA to date has been lacking - limited to talking to various people, industry forums and analysing data. And it took a lot of effort to even get them to do this.

After having my equipment useless for month now and understanding that other three phase users with smart meters in Tshwane are having the same problem with their SMA equipment, I would strongly advise any potential solar customers to avoid SMA solar equipment and IBC as a supplier - if you are on three phase power and your municipality is implementing smart meters. (Tshwane uses Conlog smart meters) you are very likely to find your large investment worthless.
