Poor quality beds and poor customer service of sleep masters
On 21 April 2024, I purchased three single beds from Sleepmasters under order number ***, at a total cost of over R7,000. Within less than six months, all three beds showed significant quality issues: the frames became flimsy, the mattresses sagged noticeably, and I could feel the steel edging through the sides of the mattresses. Additionally, the wooden bases began separating, the feet were unstable, and the overall construction was clearly poor. It's important to note that my children, who use these beds, each weigh under 30 kg.
I reported these issues to Sleepmasters under ticket number 911504. After repeated communication, I was assured that the beds would be replaced. In November 2024, I was contacted by their courier service to facilitate the exchange. However, to my surprise, only one replacement bed was delivered—and it was the same model that had already proven to be defective. I immediately contacted customer care, and in the presence of the courier, they assured me that the remaining two beds would also be replaced.
As of 5 May 2025, nothing further has been done. The single replacement bed is already showing the same faults as the original ones. This indicates a pattern of poor manufacturing and unacceptable product quality. Despite raising these concerns, the company has shown no real interest in resolving the issue.
I am now formally requesting a full refund for the beds, as they are clearly not fit for purpose. I also feel it is my duty to warn others: do not support Sleepmasters, as their products are of very poor quality and their customer service is unreliable.
