Poor after-sale service

On 18 February 2019 I bought a bed from Sleep Zone in Table View. Less than a year later, the mattress is squeaking (I sleep alone) with every move. It is a condensed foam mattress. And there is a huge soft spot in the middle of the mattress.

I went back to the store at the end of January 2020 and spoke to Marinda who sold me the mattress and base. She told me that I had bought the wrong bed. The bed was good for a spare room where there will be someone sleeping on it occasionally.

I had told her up front that I would be sleeping on the bed every night. She had an opportunity to see me and tell me that I would be too heavy (85kg) for the bed if I slept on it every night.

There was nothing of this sort mentioned on the invoice.

She suggested that I take the matter to the Ombudsman.

I have spoken to people in the industry, because I have to buy a new bed. They have told me that Sleep Zone is famous for just selling for the sake of selling and not taking the important things into consideration. And then when the customer comes back, they throw their hands in the air and refer you to the Ombudsman.
