False advertising & then no assistance
We made a booking through Sleeping Out to stay at Thembe Eco Lodge on the 19th December 2014. We made a booking here specifically because we were to travel in to Mozambique the next day and this accomodation was both nearby the border post and according to the website, we would be able to get here with our car (knowing that this was commonly known as a 4x4 area).

The car took a very heavy beating getting up to the lodge and when we got there, starting making a grinding sound and the entire car would vibrate. Obviously, we were extremely upset as we had now damaged our car to the point that we had to spend the rest of our holidays making arrangements to have the car towed all the way to Richard's Bay (almost 500 km's away) and collected.

We requested Sleeping-out to assist us and others by taking down the advert and claiming against Thembe Eco Lodge for false advertising, but all that they could say was that the hostess said that she would not assist in any way.

I am extremely disappointed in both these service providers and I have never had such bad service from either parties, including a shouting hostess. I would never recommend either of these providers.
I am very sorry for this unfortunate incident and I am advised that we discussed this with you and the establishment at the time. We did approach the owners of this campsite and they explained that you took the wrong road and damaged your car there. They insist that the road to their campsite is fine and that smaller cars travel it regularly without problem.
I see that both you and the campsite owners claim the other party was shouting (and swearing) which probably did not help either.
I can understand how frustrating it must have been to have your car damaged at the start of your holiday and I can only sympathise. However, the campsite owners are not willing to pay for your car's damage as they do not feel there was \false advertising\" and do not feel that they are responsible for the damage.
