R14K DAMAGE CAUSED BY SLEEPER WAREHOUSE'S BAD INSTALLATION

Terrible chimney installation from Sleeper Warehouse (Home Fires recommended installer). When it rains my ceiling above the fireplace floods, the chimney is skew and parts falling down that have not been attached properly. They came back to fix it, but the ceiling started leaking again within a couple of months. So badly installed, the ceiling needs to be fixed and repainted, and the whole chimney needs to be removed and reinstalled properly.

UPDATE: After removing the chimney pipe to reinstall it correctly, I have uncovered a much bigger problem. My roof tiles are sagging due to Sleeper Warehouse’s installer deciding it was easier to cut a piece out of a supporting roof truss to make the pipe fit than repairing and repositioning the incorrectly cut hole in the ceiling! This is what is causing the ceiling to flood. A roofing company sent to inspect the damage has said the roof is at risk of collapse and that cutting the truss where it bears the roof load is ********. They have quoted me R9k to fix Sleeper Warehouse’s mess and another fireplace company has quoted me a minimum of R4k to reinstall. Added to this, due to the rain water running down the chimney pipe into the expensive fireplace, it is now covered in rust. BEWARE!!
