Be cautious of Slater Gym

I would not recommend Slater Gym based on my experience.

I signed a 6-month contract that was supposed to end in December 2025, yet they are still deducting money from my bank account after the contract expired. The agreed monthly fee was R895.00, which was correctly deducted for the first three months. After that, the debit orders suddenly changed to R432.00.

When I raised this with them, I was told that my updated banking details had been linked to the wrong client’s account — meaning I was unknowingly paying for someone else’s membership. Despite this being clearly their administrative error, I am now being held responsible for the outstanding balance of R895.00 on my own account.

This situation is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Clients should not have to pay for mistakes made by the gym’s staff, especially when it involves sensitive financial information. I expected accountability and a proper resolution, but instead I’ve been left out of pocket and blamed for something that was not my fault.

Be very cautious before signing up.
