Grounded airline promises refund but alas

I bought my Mother-in -law and niece tickets to visit us in Cape Town with Skywise. on their return we arrived at the airport only to find no one at the check-in counters. There where a few staff members standing around and they said that the flight had been cancelled because of a technical fault (No mention that it was because they did not pay their bills).

They had us put our names on a list and they would book us flights on other airlines at their expense or put us on the next available flight. We waited 90 minutes and then they said that all flights had been cancelled and that they wont book any other flights. They said that we need to book our own flights and that they would reimburse us in the next few days.

I bought two new tickets on Kulula (R6300 one way to Lanseria) and got them on a plane. The next day I caled the call centre and mailed info @skywise and refunds@skywise to no avail. I have sent 5 emails and called 6 times with no result. you can only speak to Customer Service (hah) and not to refunds - I suspect it is because they do not have a refund department.
The CEO announces in the media that we need to call the number to claim but his team is useless.
Hello Maaster,

Firstly we apologize for the manner in which we disorganized your travel arrangements which led you to purchase new tickets on another airline, this was totally unplanned. This is definitely not how we aim treat our passengers.

The lack of communication is also inexcusable, this will take up with the Call Centre which we believe your call went through.

The refunds department has confirmed receipt of your claim which is being processed.

We will be in touch with you to update you on your refund.

Kind regards,
Skywise
