Skynet - Gross neglect of fragile goods
On 26 January, I drove down from Johannesburg with R70 000 stock, almost entirely crockery and glassware.
Unfortunately, when travelling at about 100kmh near Ohrigstad, a slow car in the left lane turned across my path to turn into the Graskop side road. I swerved, braked, but could not avoid a collision. As my car was severely damaged, the goods were then transferred to a bakkie, packed carefully and sent onward for delivery. We unpacked the consignment on receipt in Hoedspruit and discovered no breakages.
2 consignments, packed carefully and checked by our Johannesburg office arrived this week, with special high end expensive crockery orders smashed again. This is a reflection of Skynet's gross negligence in the handling of our consignments and is not acceptable. All goods were clearly marked fragile. These goods were imported from the Middle East and the UK, packed to international freight standards and requirements and were delivered, without breakage until Skynet were contracted to deliver our consignment. Year to date breakages is about 50% of the consignments.
Due to your Skynet's refusal to accept liability on multiple occasions for losses incurred by this repeated gross negligence, we moved our insurance away to our insurer, who will be claiming from your company for the consistently repeated gross negligence. We will be forced to move our business to another courier.
