Skynet delivery express ****** me and taking me for a fool in process.
On the 27th of September 2021, a Skynet delivery driver went to deliver my parcel at home but I was already at work at that time. I asked if they can bring it to me at work, they said my work is out of their route. They asked if they could leave it with a neighbor, I said they can go to the house in front of mine. They didn't get any response from that house. It looks like they were so eager to do the delivery and get rid of the parcel that they asked the first person they saw outside in the neighborhood to take the parcel. They phoned me to say they are leaving the parcel with the old lady who is 4 houses away from the house I referred them to. I told them I'm not fami**** with those people but the delivery guy insisted that the old lady says she knows me and they left it there for me to collect after work.
When I got to the house after work, the old lady said she gave it to some lady who said she will going to give it to me. I phoned the delivery guy and asked him to come and retrieve the parcel. The old lady gave a different story to him, saying he gave it to a black guy. The old lady seemed to be suffering from memory loss because of old age. I tried to ask her son to look for it inside the house as she may have forgotten where she put it but I had no success on that attempt as he was not cooperative at all.
The delivery guy was fired the next day for losing the parcel and the guy who accompanied him was asked to look for the parcel from the old lady but he had no success at all. After a week of not getting anything, the subcontracted company owner, Mr. Mike Fourie promised to pay for the parcel. The plan was to reorder the items from the online shop and he will pay for the parcel. I even went to Skynet offices in Cape Road and spoke with the lady by the name of Blanche Kondile, who is the debriefing supervisor; who was going to deduct on Mike's earnings to cover the lost parcel. Mike confirmed on the phone that he will pay. Blanche's manager said Mike should instruct to deduct in writing which he promised he will do.
Skynet management sent a letter to the online shop saying that they are not associating themselves with the loss, I am the one who instructed the delivery guy to leave the parcel in that house. The fired driver was called to go do the affidavit which implicated me and freed Skynet from the loss of the parcel. I never instructed them to go to the house that is 4 houses away from me, they approach the person on their own accord and phoned to tell me they are leaving it there.
Mike no longer wanted to take responsibility as it was his driver who lost the parcel and has no way of claiming his money from the driver if Skynet doesn't want to be associated with this. He didn't write the letter because he was told by management not to write it as they are not taking responsibility for the lost parcel. Mike told Blanche that if he says he won't be able to get his money back from Brandon (fired driver) as Skynet is not taking responsibility for this loss. Mike was willing to write the letter and take responsibility for the damage caused by his driver but was stopped by management and told not to do it.
I feel like I am being played for a fool here and being ****** in the process, how does it become my fault that they left a parcel with someone who is not of sound mind or not capable to be given the responsibility of something. So I buy something, not get it and I should be fine with it because they told me they are leaving it in a certain house I didn't even instruct them to go to.
When I called Brandon to ask about the contents of his affidavit, he is not taking my calls anymore. Neither Mike Fourie is taking my calls now. I'm on the dead-end as no one is answering my calls and in the process, I'm being ****** of R1000 worth of items I bought online and the courier did not give them to me.
