Disgusting Behaviour

I received an exorbitant account from attorney's for non-payment on an account not paid by my Discovery Medical aid. I have been unable to pay this account as I was retrenched in March 2014. I am still unemployed.<br> <br> The capital balance was R1544.63 and I am now owning R2256.64. These attorney's have invoiced R450.00 instruction fee, R5 for each email sent, R176.09 for outstanding commission and R20.92 for interest. They are unable to divulge the interest rate or how it is charged.<br> <br> R712.01 in fees is more than excessive on R1544.63 and as an individual who already can't afford to pay the original balance it's unjustifiable.<br> <br> I called Lindi, the manager of accounts, she was rude, and informed me that she didn't care what fees were being charged. She also confirmed that she actually didn't know what their attorney's were charging. She did say that I should complain on Hello peter and the FAIS ombudsman about these ridiculous fees. <br> <br> I understand that I owe money, and I will be happy to pay this, with legal fees that are reasonable, when I am in a position to do so. I will also be lodging a formal compliant with the FAIS ombudsman with the hope that their attorney's pay a hefty fine.
