Refusing to replace a broken item because of a later report.
Do not use these people services!! I have been in contact with Michael from their sea point branch regarding a a portable clothing line/ hanger they broke on Monday the 19th after they used it and forcefully closed it and breaking it at the same time. When I got to use it on Sunday the 25th that when I found it was broken and sent a text right away to Michael. I never got a response after numerous calls and messages. On Wednesday the 28th he sends responds with: “ You acuse us with no proof, and then expect us to replace something we never used... Read our terms and conditions, have a nice day” And blocks me right away, how professional can you be?! Contact the HeadOffice well it’s been a back and forth now with them contacting Michael clearing not want to deal with the issue.
These are the responses I’m getting from this man: “ Good afternoon Angie
We understand your frustration, but please understand that, we can't confirm who was there after us that could break your laundry hanger. As company policy state our terms and conditions witch was in clued in your quotation... Attached in this email is where it was.
Thank you ”
“Good afternoon Angie
I was not dismissive You accuse and expect we have too replace... That was your message... That was your implication. We work with many client all happy. If something goes wrong it was said with in 24 hour, the clean was on a Monday you messaged us later Sunday afternoon... Many days later Furthermore anyone could have visited you and break it... We cannot take responsibility many days later... Yet again in your previous email you expect a replacement.
I'm sorry if you feel the way you do, but you must remember we had a supervisor on site, and he would definitely picked it up if something was broken.
Thank you Skitterblink Sea Point”
All this because I reported the breakage at a later stage so now I’m lying.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry that this experience has left you feeling frustrated. That is never the outcome we want for any of our clients.
To clarify our position: our team completed the clean on Monday the 19th, and the concern regarding the clothing hanger was only reported on Sunday the 25th, several days later. As outlined in our terms and conditions (which are included with all quotations), any breakages or damages need to be reported within 24 hours of the service so that they can be investigated fairly and accurately.
Unfortunately, when an item is reported as damaged several days later, we are unable to confirm when or how the damage occurred, especially as we cannot verify who may have had access to the property in the days following the clean. For this reason, we could not accept responsibility in this instance.
That said, we do take your feedback regarding communication very seriously. Blocking a client is not our standard practice, and we will be addressing this internally to ensure all communication remains professional, respectful, and solution-focused, even when we disagree.
We regret that this situation escalated and that it left you feeling unheard. While we must apply our policies consistently, we do appreciate you raising your concerns and wish you all the best going forward.
Kind regards,
Skitterblink Cleaning Services

I was told the cleaning issues were because my windows were open — an unacceptable and irrelevant excuse. Clothing that was meant to be folded was not properly done. When folding eventually happened on the 21st, items were simply shoved to the back with a few folded pieces placed in front, as if that somehow counts as a completed job.
I only realised this weekend… well I guess that doesn’t matter “someone must have been in my apartment” to mess my wardrobe.
This service was a waste of my money. I’m grateful that I have texts and photos exchanged with Micheal documenting my complaints long before the damaged item was found. There is proof of ongoing issues that were ignored.
I tried resolving this directly. Sea Point ignored me. Head Office ignored me. That alone says a lot about how you do business.
How exactly are customers supposed to trust that issues will be addressed at branch level when Head Office behaves the same way?
You are taking advantage of your customers, and I am still waiting for an apology from Micheal — the bare minimum after how this was handled.
Failure of service this is.
