GEL NAIL DISASTER

I had gel nails done here for my birthday to treat myself . When I sat down to have my nails done, the nail technician did minimal prep work. Basically consisting of scrubbing my nails with soapy water, only s****ing the dead skin from the top of my nails and then lightly buffing it. She did not cut off any dead skin from my cuticles(which I know are not always needed), insure that my nail-bed was properly filed and clean from any oil or dust.

From my previous experiences and from watching many tutorials on gel/acrylic and nail prep it was to my understanding that washing your hands with soapy water is not the best idea, considering that soap has properties in it that can keep the nail from sticking properly to the natural nail. All the dead skin on the nail needs to be removed and the cuticles trimmed to prevent a barrier between the constructed nail and the natural nail. The nail needs to be properly buffed and filed, a adhesion (Prep and Primer) were not used on my nails.

I asked about 'bubbles' that I saw under the gel and asked if this could be a sign of lifting. I was told that it was impossible and that it's normal. When the same 'bubble' appeared on a different nail, the gel came off completely over that section when the technician buffed and filed my nails. 2 nails broke in the process of constructing and filing them. So the technician had to fill them. Basically the end result was that all my nails came off the next day despite me being as careful as possible.

Now, I understand that I am not an expert. I did not study to become a nail technician, however I do love getting my nails done even if it is seldomly, and admire the beautiful creations that nail technicians create. So I watch many different nail artist and nail technician tutorials and every single one of them stress the importance of nail prep. I have added some videos from different nail technicians who have been doing this for 5 - 20 years and even teach future nail technicians.

I considered calling to ask if this could be fixed, but honestly what is the point. If this is the result of me sitting for almost 3 hours and spending R450. What would the result be at a discounted or free session.
