Waste of money
The application process took forever, which was a sign but I ignored it. I recently went to my GP, who prescribed certain meds. I got a text from the Med scheme that it was flagged, since it's considered chronic. I consulted with the Med Scheme and was told that I should have app**** for pre-authorization before going to the pharmacy. (Meaning, my health doesn't come first. I have to wait for 3-5 working days for them to decide whether or not I'm granted to access that medication.) I was then told to get the script from the pharmacy and e-mail it to them, which I did. It was then declined. Meaning I am liable to pay the pharmacy out of my own pocket. Notwithstanding the fact that one has to pay levy after levy for over the counter medication. As a person who's on medical aid I feel like I'm still taking care of my health out of my own pocket. I wouldn't recommend Sizwe Medical Fund. I regret joining it.
