Unpaid medical bills by Sizwe Hesmed
My daughter fell ill late last year. After taking her to the emergency room she was admitted and diagnosed with Endometriosis. I have been suffering from heavy bleeding and fibroids and then decided to rather have my womb removed to focus on my child. Weeks before my operation I confirmed with the medical aid and with the doctor if they have received the approval from the Sizwe Hosmed to proceed with the operation. Which both the doctor and the medical aid yes Authorisation have been given. Now all of a sudden a have an outstanding balance of R10 040 with Netcare Sunward Park Hospital. It i knew this was gonna happen I would never have agreed because I know I don't have that kind of money to pay back. My medical aid take up a least R4000 from my salary every month. Where do I start because now all of a sudden I have flock of unpaid medical bills of close to R16000. And where I don't have to use I dont I rather self medicate. I've been with Sizwe for almost 23 years and I strongly believe if they had to up all of my contributions to what they have paid in medical bills they have made more money of me. I've been wearing my glasses for the last almost 6 years cause they don't pay for this and that and I end up paying in just for my spectecals. None on my children wear glasses and I am so scared to have them tested cause it would cost me more out of pocket. We don't even use the dentistry because same i would end up having to pay in at the end of the day. As a single mother in this horrible economy just trying to make sure my daughter's and I are protecting I time of need why is Sizwe making my suffer this much with not paying the medical bills. With what is left of my salary I am left with nothing and now I must pay these bills and what then how will I survive. I need the number for the Medical Ombudsman

I just want this to be known to Sunward Park Hospital as well as Sizwe Hosmed. I don't have money and thought that my needs will be met with Sizwe. We don't just frequent doctors and try and self medicate as much as we can. But how is it still not enough to be covered. Please provide me with my total amount of contributions for the past almost 23 years and what I spend being really sick that Sizwe would have had to pay. And then we see what the scales say. How is it that I can't proper medication or have my glasses made which I really need. What about my teeth they are in such a bad condition but I dont what to have them seem to for fear of owing my doctors. My sick child with this bad illness has even apologized to me that I am so indebted because of her being so sick. That's not fair. I dont know what to do and I needs answers on how to proceed. How do they say that they will get back within 3-5 days but never does. What I am paying for to fill someone pockets will mine is empty.
