Spine Operation was declined

My mother-in-law has been diagnosed many years ago with osteoporosis and spondylosis, as well as rheumatoid arthritis. For the past 10 years orthopedic surgeons have been telling her she needs to go for a spine operation. She is at a point now where she needs the surgery urgently.<br> She is on the Primary Care option on Sizwe Medical Fund and they have declined the operation saying that her option excludes spinal surgery!<br> The orthopaedic surgeon asked that she have the surgery done ASAP and did not want to wait till January!<br> Now that it has been declined, Sizwe says the only way to have the operation is to upgrade her to a higher option which will only take effect from January!<br> My mother-in-law cannot walk! She can barely lie flat or stand!<br> No pain medication is helping her and she has already lost feeling in her right foot due to the pinching of her sciatic nerve caused by the degeneration of 2 of her discs (between L4 and L5, and L5 and S1).<br> they cannot tell me that this is not a PMB! Doctors have told her that she can wake up paralyzed one day soon!<br> <br> If that happens, Sizwe will be in for a major lawsuit! <br>
