Premium Change from R5000 to R8000 - No Notifications!!!

The worst medical aid you can possibly choose. Last year we had issues in Jan with change of rates - This year again... Our premium increased from R5000 to R8000 per month - Over 70% increase.

How does one afford this especially in January.

Apparently there has been a change to the plan we were on hence the adjustment. No notifications received. No notifications advising of the significant change in debit order.

Contacted the call centre - Ref NOV*** - Agent cannot assist. Apparently I can cancel but must provide one months notice.

Do they not understand the effect of a R3000 change to a family - This is not the amount we agreed to or signed up for. If you are making significant changes to the plans notify customers allowing them the opportunity to accept or change!!!!

I called your call center 6 times this morning. The agents cannot assist and unfortunately your team-leaders and managers are not available.

1. No confirmations of notifications delivered has been supp****.
2. No documentation illustrating our acceptance of change from R5000 to R8000.

All he could say was they investigating. Whilst our money was taken from our account without authorization we must wait!!!

Here's the Bull**** comment received from the Manager. He did not return my call and now he has the audacity to claim that he is waiting for me!!! The calls are recorded & I challenge you guys to review the recording and check yourself whether his email is acceptable.

Here's my reply to his email.

3 Jan 2025 @ 11h32am
Good Day Tshidiso,

Thank you for your email.

I am unsure why you advising you awaiting the termination form as this was not as we discussed Yesterday - I'm sure your calls are recorded so please refer to it.

Please do not send me emails claiming you are waiting for me as delaying tactics!!!

Summary of our call to refresh your memory
  1. I expressed my disappointment on the additional debit to our account. I advised that we were not notified of this nor did we approve this additional change in debit and therefore requested the money be sent back to me immediately.
  2. I explained that the money you'll took from my account (WITHOUT AUTHORISATION) is for our Rent.
  3. We discussed either moving my family to a cheaper plan for January and refunding me the additional money taken from my account OR if this cannot be done, cancel our plan with immediate effect and refund the total balance that was debited (I am not prepared to provide 30 day notice based on the exorbitant debit off our account).
  4. You advised that you were going to speak to your seniors and revert to me by no later than 16h30 Yesterday.

Please revert with feedback on my refund as we discussed.

Regards,
