AUTHORIZATION DOESN'T GUARANTEE PAYMENT!!

I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea an a Cpap machine was prescribed. Sizwe Hosmed authorized an amount of R11 000 (more or less). When it was time to pay the provider, only R8000 was paid. I phoned the medical and spoke to quite a few people. One half saying if R11k was authorized then R11k must be paid (it always worked like this when Hosmed was not administered by these clowns!!!) and the other half saying authorization doesn't guarantee payment!!! I ask you with teary eyes how this can be possible!?!? If R11k had been authorized then it must be paid, otherwise only the R8k should have been authorized!!!! This is just ridiculous!!!! Every day is a struggle with Hosmed since the administration was taken over by Sizwe! We have been members longer than 10 years but I think it's time to start looking at other medical aid services.
