Absolutely useless and inhumane medical aid scheme

This medical aid is an absolute disgrace. Despite having pre-authorisation and being admitted for an emergency C-section, my claims were rejected with no explanation whatsoever. They informed my doctor that the claim was rejected but claim they are “unable to give a reason” — which is both shocking and unacceptable. They do not answer their phones, ignore emails, and make it virtually impossible to speak to a competent human being. At a time when I was dealing with a medical emergency and the birth of my child, this medical aid added unnecessary stress, anxiety, and financial pressure. The level of service is pathetic, especially considering they have recently been under investigation, which now makes complete sense. If this is how they treat members during life-threatening emergencies, I shudder to think how they handle anything else.

This is not just poor service, it’s irresponsible and inhumane. I would strongly warn anyone considering joining this medical aid to think twice. When you need them most, they disappear, refuse to communicate, and leave you stranded with medical bills they should be covering. I would never recommend this medical aid to anyone.
