Just over 1 month ago a salesperson from SWE visited our offices on a cold call, up to this point we were using Time Freight for almost 14 years without any hassles , collection and deliveries to our clients all done on a COD basis of which our clients were always liable , this was supposedly understood at the time and we proceeded to log collections for delivery , seemingly everything was moving according to plan and booked at least 10 deliveries for the month , this week however a bill was sent to us for an amount of R15000 for freight costs , an exorbitant amount of R8700 charged to transport an engine to cape town versus a cost of R1500 with Time Freight , further to that a cost of R5600 to transport a bumper to cape town valued at R5000 and otherwise transported at a cost of R500 with time freight , the balance of the calls tied up with what was quoted , I have been instructed by SWE to pay up or else face getting blacklisted without further warning Is this legal as I feel as if I am being ******ed as I have no way of explaining myself or defending the claim against me !!! , at the time the notice of account was sent to me No credit facility was held as we are a COD trader.
