I have received extremely bad service and unprofessional behaviour from Gail Adams, a representative who is a member of the South African Institute of Valuators. I intend to lodge a complaint with the valuation institute against this member as well.

I have requested this person to clarify on a 2019 valuation attached to my property which she will not answer me on in any way of form and actually put the phone down on me. I have sent numerous emails to this representative to no effect or no avail. The relevant municipality (Langeberg Municipality) don’t even have the decency to answer either.

The standard comment that I am getting is that I must wait for the general valuation to be concluded in 2020 to argue or dispute my case. It needs to be clearly expressed that I am not disputing the case - I am asking this person to explain to me how they came up with a value on my property which is R200,000 above what the arm's length transaction for the property purchase concluded in 2019. This will form the basis for the 2020 valuation and is NOT a dispute - it is an enquiry

I find the lack of response and the manner in which she dealt with me COMPLETELY and utterly unprofessional (3 emails sent and 2 phone calls) and I demand that she deals with my issue and answers my questions - it is not a dispute it is a query as to how they calculated the value and I am entitled to know as a rate payer how the valuation was calculated!
