We appointed Levasen to install SPC flooring on one of our projects. From the onset, we made it explicitly clear that the finished floor had to be perfectly level with the surrounding tiles, as there was up to a 25 mm depression in areas of the floor. He assured us that this could be achieved, and based on that assurance, we paid a 65% deposit. However, instead of properly levelling the floor with a screed as discussed, he app**** a topping before installing the flooring. As a result, the finished floor was significantly lower than the surrounding tiles. In addition, the flooring pattern was installed incorrectly, and there were numerous gaps along the edges of the installation. When we raised these issues, he claimed that this was the installation method we had requested and then quoted an excessive additional fee to carry out the levelling work that had been part of the original requirement from the beginning. We subsequently engaged another contractor who was willing to level the floor at a fair and reasonable cost. We asked Levasen to remove the flooring so that the levelling could be completed, with the intention of having him return to reinstall it afterward. During the removal process, his staff damaged sections of the flooring. We also discovered that they had attempted to compensate for uneven areas by placing stacked offcuts underneath portions of the floor, which is entirely unacceptable. When we confronted him about these issues, his attitude became unprofessional. At that point, we requested that he refund our deposit and leave the project. Instead, he chose to retain approximately half of the payment, claiming it was for his "time and effort." We ended up losing that money, we had to buy 6 additional boxes of flooring for the broken ones and had to pay someone again to redo it properly. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend his services. We found the workmanship, communication, and handling of the situation to be unprofessional, and I would advise others to exercise caution before engaging him.
