Sirvape refuses return of clearly faulty devide

I ordered a particular vape starter kit from Sirvape. During the first two days of owning the device, the 5-click on and off mechanism worked fine. From day 3 onwards, however, the device would respond to the 5-click mechanism only intermittently and it took many attempts before the device would respond to the clicks in order to either switch on or off. This is clearly a fault in the device as I have been through a number of devices and never has it been required that I make a number of attempts at the 5-click on/off action before the device would respond to it. I contacted Sirvape reporting the problem and they arranged for the device to be collected from me and sent back to them. They contacted me saying that the device was working correctly and sent me a short video demonstrating the successful switching on and off via the 5-click mechanism. Note however that in the video the device was switched on once, switched off once, then the batteries were taken out and inserted again upon which the device switches back on automatically. They thus refused to the return of the device and sent it back to me at my own cost of R80 for the courier. I received the device this morning. Same problem. And this time I made a video that shows how it took two attempts to get the device switched on, and that only on the SEVENTH attempt did the device switch off again. What is more disturbing is that I noticed clearly that in fact my device box was never opened. This is clear to me due to the taping I used in order to secure the lid of the box to the box prior to sending it back to Sirvape. The clear tape (sellotape) that I put onto the box was asymmetrical, uneven, and thinned toward its sides due to how a broad width roll of sellotape tends to tear down the middle when you try to pull off a piece for use. This exact taping was fully in place and unopened when I received the device back this morning. Did they thus use another similar mod for their video? I cannot state this as a fact but I do strongly suspect it. I will now be contacting them again, sending my video and once again request a return for a refund. I will update on the outcome here. Hopefully this time they will take the route of integrity and ethical business practice.

Correction, in my video only by the 8th attempt (not the 7th) did the device switch on.

Hmm, it seems from other reviews of Sirvape that they habitually deny the claims against them, never take responsibility or apologize. From other replies to reviews it also seems they habitually use the tactic during these disagreements to want to phone you to "explain themselves" - I refused this phone call as it is merely a bullying tactic plus there is nothing for them to "explain". It's a black and white issue: device is faulty, refund me for it. Fullstop. And I did not even mention before that I purchased a replacement device of a different kind at an even higher price through Sirvape while the return of the faulty device was being handled as I was just so confident that they would handle the process in a sensible manner and give me the refund I was due.

OH MY GOSH. And in another shocker, I just watched their video again and noticed that the tank they put onto the mod with which they did the demonstration is a different tank type to the one my kit came with - more proof that they didn't use my device for the video!!! Absolutely shocking!!

So the "sirs" at Sirvape have not yet responded to my claim that they never opened my device to test it and sent me a **** video. I do concede it must be difficult to think up a response when there is such glaring evidence against you. Also they are not responding to my request to return the device. I have now laid a complaint against them with the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. Please do not support this business and warn those you know not to either! Hi Mariska we have been constant contact this whole time and rep**** to your email yesterday as well. One is limited to only 300 characters on this review platform as a business in replies which I think is rather one sided to be honest.

If you want to take this further please reply via email or give us a call when you are ready thanks as it is pointless doing this here with limited reply for a business.

UPDATE:
Following more communication with Sirvape, my device was sent back to them to be tested again. This time they took the video from the point of opening the box on camera to doing a large number of on/off switching repetitions. This video made it clear that the on/off switching mechanism does in fact work correctly, but there is a bit of a "trick" to how the "button" needs to be pressed. I thank Sirvape for taking this extra effort to assist me and I apologize for any offensive comments made, however much at the point of making the comments those were my honest and sincere impressions and convictions. Thanks Sirvape that I can now move ahead and have confidence in the product I purchased and also know how to use it correctly.
