SIRAGO tricks

While SIRAGO did pay almost all my claims in the past and I had many (not by choice, though), I presently have a claim for R 34k+ pending for settlement that took a slightly different turn. The claim was submitted on 30 Sep '22 (today is the 21st of November). SIRAGO took their time to pick up my mistakes when submitting my documents. Minor mistakes but probably within their rights to delay things. Every time one submits a claim SIRAGO, allegedly has 10 days to respond. My claim was finally accepted and SIRAGO sent an AGREEMENT OF LOSS form that allows them to negotiate a discount with the service provider. I filled in the form and mailed it back to SIRAGO. On October 26 I phoned them again and was told that the claim had been settled and paid directly into the surgeons account. Weeks later I receive a reminder from the (very patient) surgeon to settle their account, which remained unpaid. I went back to SIRAGO to query this. This time I was told that the claim was indeed not settled and that the matter was with "the manager". I asked to speak to this manager, was put on hold for 7 minutes and then told that the manager would phone me back. Needless to say that this call did not come through. I appreciate that SIRAGO has so far paid out more on my behalf than they will ever collect in contributions (premiums) from my side. But that is the risk an underwriter takes. It does not give them the right to lie about payments made and to ********ly withhold such payments.
