Sirago Gap Cover avoiding paying claims DO NOT JOIN THEM.

We have been with Sirago Medical Aid Gap Cover for a number of years. We recently submitted 2 claims, with documentation as required. This has been the most frustrating process I have encountered for a long time. The people in the Sirago Claims department have clearly been instructed to avoid and delay paying claims as long as possible or they are simply stupid. Their stated 10 working day turnaround is utter *******. The first claim was submitted on 28 June, I had to make 2 calls, after the 10 day time, to get feedback, the first of which uncovered that absolutely nothing had been done and it was resubmitted, the second to request more documentation which was included in the first claim. It is still not paid. The second claim we were informed after the 10 day time that documents were required, surely that's the point of the waiting period?? Now we are told the claim is rejected because our medical aid rejected the claim which is not true, we paid the doctor directly and the medical aid provided the pre authorisation. Do not touch these guys with a barge pole, there are many Gap cover options out there, these are not the right people to consider unless you enjoy late payments if at all, and endless frustration.
