I bought aSinotecTV from Makro Strubensvalley. They gave me a story that it carries a 5 year warranty which they do. My TV broke once during this time but their turn arround time was three weeks.

The TV gave me good service but just after the warranty expired i took it back to Markro who required me to pay R500.00 up front if they send it in for repaires. If the repairs done on the TV is less that that when i came back to Makro they would get the difference back . which sounded fair. I never took up this offer as i read numerous reports about these Sinotec TVs across the board Models that the LED lights and soft ware only lasts for four too five years not woth to repair as the problem i was experiencing was the screen had no picture just kept changing colours after inserting a USB Stiffy for the first time.

The technition from Sinotec and Makro informed me to try to reset as the TV had gone into aging mode?

For this reason i would not advise anyone to buy Sinotec it lasts for only 4-5years then it packs up.

my model was a37inch screen which they dont make anymore so no spares. the electronics are from China!!! This Tv at the time 5years ago cost me R4999.00 which even today is a lot of money.

I'm a pensioner , all our previous TV Box types lasted for 10plus years with no problems (SONY) i still have and it works fine) Samsung also old box type has given me problems but to be fair i think lightning hit it through the areial. This is not the products fault and it gave me value for my money.

Good morning Sir
We at Sinotec would like to ask if possible if you could contact us regarding you unit. Firstly we would like to establish what it is you were trying to do with the USB flash drive as it could be the flash drive that could have *******ed the unit. Please feel free to contact us on ***

Best regards,
I had problems with this TV set 3 years ago when it just went dead.I returned it to Makro Strubensvalley where I bought it .They returned if to Sinotec .Approx three weeks later I was contacted by Makro to fetch my TV. The report was something in the circuit board had blown now replaced. It worked thereafter fine.I received a 8gig USB stick from my nephew from Dahlenberg Germany on which he had captured 4 years travel photos on a new intenso USB stich he had purchased in Torgau .He tested this USB stick before sending g it to me by post and it work perfectly on his computer and TV.
When I put it in my Sinotec TV ALL I saw on the screen was a square showing that a device was inserted reflecting on the left side a small palm tree.Next to it a small box reflecting musical notes on top of the square.Next to this a jpeg simbal appeared .Thereafter a large black square appeared in the middle of the existing square. When I pressed the remote to play the black box dissapperd. And on top where jpeg simba was it changed to mp3.simbal
I then removed the USB stick to try again, but now the TV Screen was completely yellow in colour.
I tried again on my remote again with no USB in the port. The TV kept changing colours from green to blue light blue etc.I switched the TV off to try and reset the TV , same story. TV would not reset.
I then took the USB stick put it into my computers
No problem the full data on the USB stick I could immidiately view.no problem.
I phoned your Branch at Midrand and spoke to a black man in the technical division who would not at first help me.He advised me to go to Makro and have a lady named Tebogo check it at goods returned offices which I did.The Strubensvalley branch is about 22km from my home. Thus gentleman at Sinotec eventually after much to and frow discussions I ask him isn't their a means to reset the TV from the remote to reset the TV. He was at first very reluctant to give me this information but he then said I must press the menu button type in carefully 8202 which should reset the TV as his opinion was that my TV had gone into aging mode? This I did at least three times, nothing happened.TV would do nothing.
I phoned Makro ask to speak to Tebogo was told she would only be at work on Wednesday.
Wednesday I phoned her,she instructed me to bring in the TV set and the remote.I arrived at the returned goods dept ment saw Tebogo. She tried a few times to reset the TV no go it would not reset.
I then ask her what must I do.She then told me I must pay R500.00 to Makro they would send the TV to Sinotec Midrand or I could go myself to Midrand and hand it in for repaires. Her opinion also was the TV had gone into aging mode
I ask her if the repairs where less than R500.00 what then. She said that Makro would refund me the difference but a handling fee would be charged and the guaranty on the repairs would only be for 3 months?
I was no prepared to accept this as I'm a SASSA pensioner R500.00 is a lot of money for me.If the circuit bord had blown the repair costs could be more? I declined her offer.I took the TV back to my car by trolley ask the security guard if he knew where the disposal boxes where and asked him to dispose of the whole TV for me.I HAVE read up on
Comments from other clients who also had experiences with Sinotec TV sets and they also conveyed bad experiences.
Tebogo also made a comment that the LED light could gave blown.
All my previous Older models Samsung,Sony, etc old box types lasted me for many years.I still use one Sony flat screen 54 och in my Computer room
It is already 14 years old.It has gone through storms lightning has never broken down
As said I'm states pensioner and am not able to buy a new set cash or on hire purchase.
I hope this gives you my full story of my expirence of Sinotec.

Good morning Sir
The reason why the USB flash drive will nit work is that the format of the files are not compatiable with the set. Is there no way that some one could possibly save the file in a different format for you.

Best regards,
Good Evenig Sirs, the USB Drive was tested before my nephew in Germany sent it to me.He phoned me to determine what system we have in S.A.and I rep**** PAL.They also run on a PAL system there.
The USB drive was checked in Germany on his Panasonic TV &his laptop computer before sending it to me.by post. For the record this is the first time I ever put a flash drive into this Sinotec TV of mine.I checked after this problem on my desktop no problem. It immediately started showing me his 4 years travel photos where had been all over Europe etc. I have disposed of my 37 inch TV ad I haven't got money to fix it.If I had fixed it the guarantee is only 3 months I was told.Sinotec
Don't make this TV size any more!!.so I threw it into disposable box at Makro.
