Bad Customer Care Service

We bought a Sinotec LED LCD Plasma TV with a 5 year warranty on the 13 November 2016 from Makro Strubensvally.

On Sunday the 4th Feb 2018 when we switched on the TV there was no picture just sound.

On the 5th Feb 2018 we phoned Makro and they told us not to bring the TV in a technician will be send by them to our house.

On the 7th Feb 2018 the TV was collected by Barnard’s TV Repairs in good condition other than the picture problem. They also promised to deliver the TV on the 23rd Feb 2018. Two weeks passed before it was delivered. In these two weeks my Mom moved in with us and for 3 days Barnards said they will deliver the TV before or after 12 but they did not deliver.

The TV was only delivered on Friday the 2nd March 2018. My Mom asked them to connect the TV before they left to ensure that the TV was working. Unfortunately with the move the power cable was still packed away. When we arrived home from work we found the cable and connected the TV, Only to find that the Tv had multiple cracks inside. We immediately phoned Barnards TV Repairs and a lady by the name of Jackie confirmed that they will come the Saturday to see what is wrong. Barnards did collect the TV on Saturday and is still in receipt of it.

The same Saturday afternoon my husband went to Makro to complain about the poor service and the damaged TV we received from Barnards. Peter Phumo said to my husband that they will either refund him or he might choose another TV in store. He also told my husband that he will notify him on the outcome from Sinotec.

On Monday I called Peter but it was his day off. I spoke to a lady by the name of Ntabisa at Makro and she told me she is still awaiting feedback from Mariam from Sinotec. She then gave me Mariam’s telephone number and with a great struggle to get through to Mariam I was told that Barnards confirmed to Sinotec that they delivered the TV in good condition. I told her that the TV screen is full of cracks and they need to replace the TV for us. She said to me we need to prove that it was Barnards and not us who cracked the screen. How on earth can a screen crack while on the TV stand. Unfortunately due to the power cable not being available when they delivered the TV on Friday no check could be done and now we have to deal with this poor service.

NB. Sinotec wants to replace the TV with a second Hand TV.

From our side we will never purchase any Sinotec products in future because of bad customer service.
