Missing Baggage, Weeks of Delays, and SGD 3.51 Compensation
I am extremely disappointed with the way my baggage delay claim has been handled by Scoot and, by extension, the Singapore Airlines group. I travelled to Bali on a Singapore Airlines booking with a Scoot-operated connecting flight via Singapore. We were a group of three travellers, and upon arrival in Bali on 11 May 2026, only one person received their luggage. Two of us, including myself, did not receive our bags. After spending more than three hours going through immigration and visa procedures, we discovered our baggage was missing. We immediately reported the matter at the airport and were issued the necessary reports. Because I had no cer*****y about when my baggage would be returned, I was forced to make emergency purchases of essential items upon arrival. These unplanned expenses amounted to approximately R1,900. What frustrated me most was the lack of communication. After submitting the required information through the claims portal, I received virtually no meaningful updates. I only learned that additional information was allegedly required when I personally followed up at the airport a week later while checking in for my return flight. After weeks of waiting, repeated follow-ups, and a disrupted holiday experience, Scoot has now informed me that their liability is limited to SGD 3.51 (approximately R37 at current exchange rates) and that no additional compensation will be considered. To put this into perspective, the compensation offered is less than the cost of a cup of coffee and does not come close to covering the emergency expenses I incurred because my baggage did not arrive with me. It would not even reasonably cover the bank charges associated with processing the payment. I was then asked to sign a Release and Discharge form accepting this amount as a full and final settlement. I appreciate that airlines have policies regarding delayed baggage claims. However, the combination of the baggage delay, poor communication, prolonged claims process, and an offer of SGD 3.51 has left me feeling that neither the inconvenience nor the customer experience has been taken seriously. I am sharing this experience in the hope that Singapore Airlines and Scoot will review how these cases are handled and provide a more customer-focused resolution process in the future.

Poor Reward Program
Flew with the team from Singapore Airlines from New Zealand to South Africa in Premium Economy. From the time I arrived I was greeted by a friendly staff member who assisted me with check in and paying for the additional baggage I had. Paying per a kg adds up quickly but it needed to be done. Paid the additional $950usd (Quite Steap for what was the equivalent of 1 extra bag costing nearly more than an entire additional ticket.) Only to find out after the fact that your additional baggage or additional spend with the arline does not even earn you additional miles. So after paying for what was nearly an additional whole ticket got nothing back really from them. Additionally, I see on their website all these great points and earnings for purchasing items on their store, only to find out that that does not apply to any purchases made on their flight. It was a small purchase of 133 SGD, and the flight attendant showed me the miles I was earning, but I still didn't get anything. So any additional spend is not rewarded, and their program points expire annually there appears to better rewards programs within the Star Alliance group where you earn more from your spend aswell are are able to pool miles with family etc. Just done NZ to RSA Returns Already Booked Back there with an additional leg to be added> Flights for 2 other family members and me return from RSA to Thailand. Maybe got to look at other airlines for rewards and loyalty programs. from what weve seen, Uniteds Milage Plus and Air Canada way better.

NOT a world class airline. So disappointed in expectation.
76 year old Johannesburg female pensioner teaching in Bangkok. Due to fly from Johannesburg to Bangkok on 6 November. Had emergency major operation on 28th October but had complications, should have been out of hospital on 30th October and possibly able to fly on 6th Nov. This is now 8 days later and am still in hospital had to change my flight. In Johannesburg made 8 calls to your local number, 8 of which took minimum of 29 minutes to answer – on 3 of those occasions YOU could not hear ME. Frustrating after 30 mins of waiting. Some time I just dropped the call myself because I saw my money flowing away. Remember, am ill in hospital. Finally I changed the flight, agreed to the price and was told had to pay via your app. MANAGE YOUR BOOKING just kept on giving me Webpage Not Available. Your guy said find better WIFI. I am in hospital unable to walk !!! Your payment URL link expired once I finally logged in to my credit card and could not complete payment. Link expired. I have just spent the past 1 hour 15 minutes trying to call you for a new payment link and after going through your ‘hoops’ your call just DROPS. I cannot afford paying for these calls and the time I have left in my life is better spent living it rather than wasting it with Singapore Airlines NOT WORKING. My booking reference is DAMIEL. I want to pay for my new ticket. Please call me on the South Africa number you have in my booking or my email. You can get my details on my booking reference. In future I will choose another airline.
