Simplicity Renovations- Worst in the renovation business

I contracted this company to replace my outdoor roof sheets. The service was terrible. With taking on other jobs simultaneously they are unable to complete the job on time.

Wayne the owner was dishonest about timelines, and the whereabouts of his staff when they should have been at my premises. The stories between him and his staff do not match.

Furthermore, his general management is appalling causing further delays. He stories change constantly, on one day saying he's paid the suppliers and they will deliver that day, then he says he changed suppliers and has to pick up the material the next day. He claims the suppliers did not give him the right amount of material, which begs the question why he did not check before leaving the premises.

My glazed floors have been exposed to rain and sunlight which has left them looking dull.

He asked for a portion of the balance because he hadn’t bought enough material from the 60% deposit I had already paid.

I said no and said I’d buy it myself, he directed me to Builder’s warehouse to get the remainder. The cost was more than the balance, but I paid knowing I would not get it back.

The van that transported the material broke down and he didn’t send money for petrol instead he switched off his phone. His staff made a plan but the car continued having issues unrelated to petrol and he was nowhere to be found.

After his staff were almost done 2 days after this incident, some additional nails were needed and he expected that I would give him petrol money to go buy them. He said I owed him money because the sheets cost more, which I refused to pay because that is not what he quoted me, he became threatening when I said to leave his tools till he returned with the nails because I did not trust that he’d return and would not give him any more money. I had to lock the door for safety as he was coming towards me in a threatening way. They left with the job not being completed.

He's staff is respectful and do their best despite the circumstances but they are led by an inadequate ***** boss. I strongly would not recommend using the services of Simplicity Renovations or Wayne Kayser.
