Promises made and cancelled within three hours of offer

I contacted Melissa at Sima Kade Bushlodge on 30 September 2021 and asked if we could book a day hike and possibly accommodation for one night in December. She said they possibly have availabilities between 26 and 30 December but I must call back in November, which I did. She confirmed at 10h41 on 15 November 2021 when I followed up with her, as she requested, that they had accommodation available for 26 December and we could do a day hike that day too and spend time at the rock pool on 27 December after checking out. I asked her to provisionally book it for us and asked further how long before the time I needed to advise how many people would join for the day hike. She said the day before would be fine. I'd asked further questions about people of different fitness levels joining for the hike, etc. At 13h41 on 15 November (3 hours after confirming the booking) she said the following, "So sorry this ‘one-day booking’ over this date is proving to be way too complicated for what it’s worth. Times in and out are too overlapped and guests who have booked over this period for longer stays, unfortunately, must take our priority. Sorry to lead you up the garden path on this but we, unfortunately, need to decline the offer for this stay due to this. Also, we have decided not to do day visitors anymore as we are also giving priority to the privacy of guests staying over." This is really poor service. I, therefore, do not recommend this organisation at all. It looks like a beautiful place and we are disappointed that we never got to experience it but if this is how they treat their potential clients, it may be best not to stay there.
