Bit sad and disappointed

We visited Silver orange Bistro several times in the past and referred numerous people to enjoy the wonderful food and atmosphere.
This time however, I was a bit sad and disappointed with a couple of things. Maybe it was because my expectations were high due to previous breakfast experiences there and the fact that we had a special occasion to celebrate piled my hopes still higher. It was a surprise for my husband
I phoned 2 days in advance to reserve a table, stressing 3 times that we are celebrating our 18 year anniversary- belated since we did not have a chance to do so on the day. When we arrived Saturday morning , there were a table with the rose petals on. I started to feel excited. But to no avail. When I enquired if the table was for us, the waiter sais we had to wait while he went to check. We stood there waiting for quite some time only to be told that the named table was reserved for lunch. We sat down at another table. Shortly after that another couple came in and sat down at the prepared table- for breakfast. Another table was prepared for the lunch reservation. Why could this not been done for us? Especially since I mentioned our belatted 18th anniversary celebration 3 times when I made the booking.
Our cuppacinos were not warm enough, none of the usual latte art ,the suger art in the form of an orange leaf which used to take my breath away were missing. In its place- just a carelessly cracked orange sugar wedge. The toast were burned on one side,my napkin was damp, the taste of the food were okay but lacking the obvious passion for attention to detail and pride in presentation I were accustomed to at that restaurant. The peppers on my omelette were quite obvious from a bottle and not freshly prepared as previously. When we asked for the bill, we did not even get the usual "something special" that we were spoiled with on previous occasions.
Not once, were our anniversary mentioned or were we made to feel extra special for choosing this restaurant above the others. We had a delightful experience at Le Bonheur last year and could have gone there again.
I am a bit sad and disappointed because the "don't care" attitude towards our dining experience, the food and the presentation of it.
If a restaurant exceeded ones expectations on previous occasions, one comes to expect the same thing every time and one expects even a bit more when you are celebrating a special event.
What went wrong?
I am left with the conclusion that one should rather turn to another restaurant when celebrating a special occasion.
It is sad that what use to be a marvelous place that used to deliver exceptional food and an unforgettable dining experience, seem to be satisfied with being average now.
