BEWARE SIGNS4SA

We are sharing the facts surrounding our experience with Signs4SA with you to enable you to make an informed decision when instructing them to attend to your needs. We believe that it is imperative to share these details with the public to assist them in mitigating their damages when dealing with this business. I am the Office Manager of our firm, and the following events fall within my personal knowledge and took place in 2023. On the 25th of October we made contact with Calvin, a salesperson, at Signs4SA. We provided our requirements for a quotation and artwork for approval to make a new sign for our offices. We informed Calvin that it is urgent and we would only make use of their services if they undertook to treat the order as such. After having to follow up with Calvin on 27th October a quote was received. We accepted the quote on provision that we see a mock up of the sign. Following up daily with Calvin from 30 October up to and including 7 November no mock up was received. On 8 November we contacted the reception of Signs4SA and asked for feedback regarding the sign. We spoke to the receptionist and thereafter a manager named Warren. They assured us that we would receive the mock up before the end of the day. On 9 November we received the mock up from Calvin. We provided Calvin with proof of payment for the sign on 10 November ON THE BASIS THAT THE SIGN WOULD BE manufactured and installed between 22 and 24 November. On 10 November Calvin acknowledged receipt of the proof of payment and assured us that installation of our sign will be done at the latest between 22 and 24 November. He further added that he would try to get it done sooner as he understood our urgency. On 22 November we contacted Calvin to no avail and the office assured us that the sign would be installed by die 24th of November. We eventually got hold of Calvin on 24 November. He informed us that he would follow up and get back to us shortly. No further response was received from Calvin on 24 November. We decided to send someone from our office to Signs4SA’s premises. There we were given the run around and it was said that the sign would be installed on the 27th of November. After having to insist on seeing the sign it was shown to us, not yet completed but we were assured that it would be completed and installed by the 27th of November. We followed up on the 27th of November but no one got back to us. On 28 November we contacted Calvin again and he said that he would find out what the delay was and would get back to us. After an hour he phoned and also sent a voicenote. In his voicenote he said that he has bad and good news. The bad is that the sign won’t be installed on the 28th of November but only on the 29th of November. The good news is that it went through quality control and they found that there was not enough LED’s in the lightbox. They were busy fixing that before installing the sign. On 29 November we were unable to get a hold of Calvin. We contacted the offices of Signs4SA and our calls were directed to Warren, the sales manager. He ensured us that he would take it on himself to escalate the matter and would confirm if the signs would be installed on 30 November in the morning or afternoon. He provided us with photos of the sign and it was clear that the sign was not yet complete. Unlike the account that Calvin gave us where he said it needed more LEDs. No further response from Warren was received. On 30 November Warren was not in the office according to the receptionist at Signs4SA. It was said that Greg the production Manager would call us back to provide us with feedback. We had to call back several times to no avail as Greg was not available to take our call and never phoned us back. We asked for the MD to contact us to enable us to sort the situation out. No call from the MD has been received as of yet. On 30 November we spoke to Pereshny and she informed us that a drill bit used to drill one of the letters out on the sign has broken and that the supplier would only supply them with a new drill bit before close of business. She was unable to commit to the sign being installed on 1 December but assured us that it would be done on 4 December. On 1 December we contacted Sign4SA again and they informed us that they had loadshedding the whole morning and could do nothing to complete our sign or get it installed. She informed us that it would be impossible to get the sign installed any earlier than Monday, 4 December. She said the MD is not able to contact us as he is not in the office and first needs to speak to Calvin before being able to address our concerns. As at 1pm on 1 December they are still refusing to commit to a time for installation of our sign on Monday. Our experience with Sign4SA has been nothing short of horrific. The sign is done one minute and then when we request photos it is clear that the sign is far from complete. It seems that we will have no other choice but to address this matter in formal forum. We would not recommend Signs4SA for your signage needs, as we would not want to see anyone else go through a similar experience. All our rights remain reserved.
