Signature Kitchens (Pty) Ltd, unprofessional
<div>I contracted signature kitchens at the end of July 2023 with a promise from the CEOs to complete the job by end of August 2023. However everything went downhill from the moment the deposit was paid. Suddenly, getting information and updates from either Alan or Chrishenda was a real struggle, they simply couldn’t be bothered to give an update and even when asked, didn’t seem to have any clear plan of action. None of the timelines promised were met. First, a botched construction job which resulted in me bringing in and paying another contractor to fix the mess signature kitchens made in knocking down a wall and fixing the walls and ceiling prior to installing the kitchen. Second, due to their lack of attention to detail, they delivered the wrong set of doors one month into the project. This is when the real nightmare began. With absolutely no apologies, I was made to wait an additional 2 months to get the new doors delivered. In that two month period, I was told all sorts of stories, false promises and outright lies. Basically I had to wait for another client to pay them before they could raise the money to pay for a new set of doors that I had already paid over 90% for. Then eventually the correct doors got delivered 3months from the start of the project but not everything was delivered and again absolutely no explanation was given to me or any update to when they would be finishing the job. I had to chase again and again before I got any sort of information and another promise to get the rest of the doors and accessories delivered to complete the job. It turned out to be another false promise…the day they promised to have the rest of the items delivered and fitted came and went and no one showed up. To this date, I’ve heard absolutely nothing from both Alan Rabatin or Chrishenda Rabatin Van Hussteen. Basically it appears they’ve decided to abandon the project. The level of unprofessionalism and incompetence showed by Signature Kitchens was unparalleled.</div>

Good morning Millicent (Ombudsman) 28 Paddington Alli Way, Lone Hill, Sandton, 2062 I trust my email finds you well? We were commissioned to do the work for Ijeoma, and from day one so many changes and confusion. We were put under a lot of pressure to come in with a certain budget we opted to assist with her building work so save her cost, please note we are not builders we referred a builder that we know under our contract, yes his work did have a few issues yet the money allocated was not enough for him to redo however, we did request him to come back, and correct, she then told us, that she would sort herself and take this off our account – We were instructed to do things that were never discussed not quoted nor include, we landed up rhoneliting the hole kitchen to get a better finish once her old kitchen was removed, we do not charge her for this, and we paid for this. The electrician got confusion and was asked to do things that was never quoted for nor paid for by Ijeoma, he subsequently walked off site and we haven’t heard from him since, for he can’t do work that no one will pay him to do, which in all fairness, I agree. In terms of supplying the “wrong door” this is NOT correct – CORRECT door – Shaker profile – off white was delivered, the confusion here is/was client wanted the matt and we delivered the texted, said this – this door is EXACTLY same colour, just one is more touch and feel different, client advised colour of sample door – yet client was sitting with 4 different samples, yes we should have actually had client sign the samples then we wouldn’t have to had replaced ALL doors. We did honoured to replace all doors and explained this would have to go back into production at factory and we would have to wait for dates. We replaced all doors, at our cost, and have delivered and hung (please view attached pictures). There are a couple of panels missing, that was delivered to site yet now just gone missing same as baskets – there has been many on and off site and we don’t know, we now again have to have these panels remade at our own cost and fit. The only other units missing is the drawers for the pantry, but said this, there are shelves in the pantry cupboard. This has not been done as yet, for client will not pay the balance and we cant have our team work for nothing either. One of the biggest cost in a kitchen is the doors, and we had to pay for this twice, so this job has actually ended up costing us money, where the status of the kitchen is right now, the money due to us is more than enough, if note too much to complete kitchen we just feel that this client cant be satisfied doesn’t matter what we do…. And we have advised she can get someone else to finish the job, she even had the audacity to phone our suppliers and ask if there were and are still things out standing…. Ijoema wanting to claim for her mental torque from us? We even had to pay for the splashbacks in her kitchen for this was never quoted for and she made it very clear she wanted this done. Also we were pressurized to hand a supplier discount which we did, for this job should have been a quick in and out. Our team are qualified cabinetry makers and they do not require project management our main fitter is the onsite manager. From our side, we are not qualified to manage builders so from a company side we made the decision not to get involved with builders for this just costs us money, and we carry the responsibility. Lesson learnt – never drop your pants, we should have walked away when budgets were discussed yet we are always willing and wanting to assist and make clients happy. We always have happy clients and a very low dissatisfactory rate, but in this case we just feel about verbal abuse has been taken! We just cant keep her happy and finically we don’t have another R20 000 to make her happy! In the sense of keeping everyone happy, she can find another contractor to complete. The short panels and the drawers we do have, we can have this delivered to her. Thank you for your patients in this matter and thank you for wanting to resolve and keeping yet again, everyone happy. Please see Ijeoma complaint via social media, we feel it is unjust and uncalled for, and in life she obviously now feels that she has to cause us mental discomfort and lose clients and business, just remember we are always accommodating but business at the moment is on a fine edge and we are all trying to make the best of the best. Regards Signature Kitchens
