Unprofessional and dishonest

Our experience with Sibanyoni Real Estate has unfortunately been disappointing. While communication initially started off well, it steadily declined over time. The agency seems to be a one-man operation calls to the office line were never answered, and all correspondence was handled solely by the Principal agent, Nhlanhla.

We had signed up with the expectation of professional property management, but what we received was essentially just rent collection. When our tenant started defaulting on payments, we were given minimal information. Updates were not proactively shared we had to constantly ask for details, and the response was often just that rent hadn’t been paid, with no clear reason or indication that efforts had been made to find out why.

Attempts to raise concerns about the lack of communication were usually met with defensiveness rather than a willingness to improve. At one point, we were even told that we misunderstood his role, though it was never clearly outlined beyond the assumption of standard property management duties. If all we needed was someone to collect rent, a middleman would not have been necessary. After the tenant vacated the property, there was again no proper communication around outstanding services, damages, or next steps we had to follow up repeatedly to get basic information.

Overall, this experience has been frustrating and disappointing. As a relatively new agency, we expected a higher level of service and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I would not recommend Sibanyoni Real Estate to other landlords looking for reliable and responsive management.
