PLANTS ORDERED FROM SIAS WERE DEAD ON ARRIVAL

We ordered cacti by mail from Mr. Sias Bekker.<br> Most of the plants arrived in a rotten (dead) condition because he packaged it in wet soil in a limp box which he poked full of holes (apparently he tried making 'air vents' for the plants).<br> We sent him photographic evidence of how the plants (and box) looked upon arrival, but he's refusing to refund us - alleging that it's the post office's fault the plants had died.<br> He also classified one of the plants incorrectly and charged us R150 for the more expensive cousin. The value of the plant that arrived (which was one of the few that survived) is only R25.<br> In the addition to the above, one of the plants we purchased for R60 wasn't even included in the box.<br> Sias also overcharged us for postage. We paid R160 for postage and reasonably expected him to ship and package the plants well. He chose, however, to post it in a limp box (filled with wet potting soil) via the post office's economy mail option for which he only paid R46 (making an additional profit of R114 from us on the dead plants).<br> We have since instituted legal action and the outcome of the same is currently pending.
