Showmax is useless

I am very unhappy with the response I received from Showmax.

Last Sunday (29/11/2020), I saw an ad for their Black Friday Promo on Facebook, offering 6 months subscription for R297. I then clicked on the link to take advantage for this offer. (my showmax account was deactivated). As I continued to check out and went ahead with payment, only R99 was deducted from my account. I was then charged for a monthly subscription and not the Black Friday promotion.

I then chatted to a consultant (Thabile) on the Showmax website and he said they will cancel my subscription and refund my R99. He sent me a link for the Black Friday promotion and said once I have been refunded I can then purchase the promotion.

I have not been refunded. And when I emailed the Showmax support team today. They said they don’t do refunds. It’s not my fault that the link I clicked on charged me R99 instead of R297.

I don’t want to purchase this promo now because then I lose out on the one month.

These guys are useless
